What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Contact forms

We collect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) when you submit an online form. For our online application (Apply) we collect information about you, your parents/guardians, and your education as part of our application review process.? For our online Volunteer form (Volunteer), we collect your contact information and your interests.

We collect and process online forms using JotForm (jotform.com). Your submissions are encrypted by JotForm at your browser and are transmitted to and stored – encrypted – at Jot Form.  Submission data is encrypted at rest and in transmission. Your submission is only accessible to OpportunityTulsa staff who hold the encryption key. Access to the encryption key is limited to staff who process applications and volunteer inquiries.

We collect this information to process applications for our culinary skill training programs, to process donations, and to collect information about potential volunteers.

Cookies

This website installs Necessary cookies on your computer that enable the website to operate correctly. You may not opt out of these cookies. We do not install tracking, advertising, analytics or any other optional cookies.

Who we share your data with

We may share Personally Identifiable Information with Service Providers we use to provide functionality to this site.  We use PayPal (Privacy Policy, Terms of Service) to collect donations. We use SendInBlue (Privacy Policy, Terms of Service) as our email service provider to transmit form information to us via email. Our website is hosted by Siteground  (Terms & Policies). When you use these services on our website, you are bound by these Service Providers Terms of Service.

If you apply to our culinary skills-training program, we may share some of your Personally Identifiable Information with our funders, as a condition of receiving funding for this program.

When you donate to Opportunity Tulsa, PayPal will collect your credit card information, billing address, phone number and email.  PayPal does not share your credit card information with Opportunity Tulsa, but shares with us your address and other contact information.

How long we retain your data

When you provide us with any Personally Identifiable Information, we will retain that information only for as long as required for us to provide service to you or for as long as you have an on-going relationship with us or one of our programs. We may keep some Personally Identifiable Information after our relationship with you is completed to help us in our reporting and analysis of our services.

What rights you have over your data

If you have submitted information to us via this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Contact web-admin@opportunitytulsa.org to request a copy of, or deletion of your personal information.

How we protect your data

This website is housed on webservers in the US. Our webhosting provider utilizes a number of technologies and practices to secure data (read more here). In addition, we utilize a third-party website application firewall to provide intrusion detection/prevention and malware scanning. Data you transmit to us via this website is secured via SSL encryption. We use strong passwords and 2FA to administer all our web services. We restrict access to your Personally Identifiable Information only to staff who need to know this information. However, no data transmission over the Internet or through mobile telecommunications can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and, for this reason, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that you transmit to us or that is transmitted to us as a result of your use of the Sites or any of the Services. 

What data breach procedures we have in place

For residents of Oklahoma, we abide by the Oklahoma Security Breach Notification Act (24 OK 24-163). In the event of a data breach, we will notify all users whose information we believe has been breached as soon as possible.  For residents of any other state, we will comply with that state’s law.
